On March 14th, 2025, students of the United Faculty in Yerevan attended a lecture on current issues in oncology, delivered by Irina Vladimirovna Evstigneeva, Deputy Chief of the V.P. Avaev Medical Center in Tver, Russia, and an experienced oncologist.

The lecture was also attended by prominent university staff, including Alexander Gennadievich Ivanov, Rector of the Mkhitar Gosh Armenian-Russian International University; Yana Nikolaevna Troynich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Lilit Genrikhovna Potikyan, Head of the Educational Department; Ruzanna Sergeevna Akhayan, Methodologist of the Educational Department; and Naira Ashotovna Kazaryan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

During the session, Irina Vladimirovna discussed the prevalence and structure of oncological diseases in Russia, Armenia, and globally. She highlighted the importance of early cancer diagnosis and the critical role doctors play in preventing the disease. Emphasizing the value of screening and timely consultations with oncologists, she explained that these are vital for the early detection of cancer. The lecture also included a demonstration of clinical cases from Irina Vladimirovna’s practical work, providing valuable real-life insights.

The students and university staff actively engaged with the lecture, posing questions and receiving informative and thoughtful responses.
