MGARIU Students Celebrate Indian Cinema at the Festival of Indian Films in Yerevan

The students of Mkhitar Gosh Armenian-Russian International University (MGARIU) had the privilege of participating in the vibrant Festival of Indian Films, organized by the Embassy of India in Armenia. The festival was held from March 28th to 30th, 2025, at the iconic Moscow Cinema in Yerevan, and proved to be a grand celebration of Indian culture and cinema.

The highly anticipated event was graced by the esteemed Indian Ambassador to Armenia, Ms. Nilakshi Saha Sinha, who attended as the chief guest. Her presence added great significance to the occasion, making the festival even more special for the attendees. The festival paid tribute to one of Bollywood’s most legendary actors, Mithun Chakraborty, affectionately known as "Mithun Da."

Over three days, audiences were treated to screenings of some of Mithun Chakraborty's most celebrated films:

  • Disco Dancer – March 28
  • Dance Dance – March 29
  • Pyar Jhukta Nahin – March 30

Students from MGARIU, alongside members of the Indian community and other cinema enthusiasts, thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgic and festive atmosphere. The screenings not only entertained but also brought a strong sense of connection to Indian culture, especially for the students studying far from home.

The Festival of Indian Films was a resounding success, leaving everyone with fond memories and a renewed sense of cultural pride.
